The
Defenders Motorcycle Club of Tampa
Supported the Patriot Guard Riders on their Mission Run for SGT Bryan Christian Luckey |
|
The Patriot Guard Riders of Florida made the sad trek to Tampa to
honor another fallen hero. SGT Bryan Luckey was laid to rest in the
National Cemetery at Bushnell, Florida. The past couple weeks the
citizens of Tampa have buried three of their own. Cpl. Aaron Griner,
SSG Fuerst and today SGT Luckey. These Florida heros are greatly missed
by their family, friends and neighbors. We are forever in their debt
for their sacrifice for their country. |

It was a hot and steamy morning. The sky was clear, but the air heavy
with the portent of rain to come. Many water bottles were passed to
keep the bikers from overheating in the morning heat. A flag line was formed by the entrance of the church for the family. There was a lot of media hovering around the perimeter of the PGR and the presence of law enforcement was everywhere. |

and a few custom sleds.

The heat soared as the Patriot Guard Riders stood their ground waiting
to show the family their support. Once the service began the Riders
were invited into an alcove of the church to cool off until it would be
time to saddle up again. In hushed voices they talked amongst
themselves. Good friends, many who had a lot of these missions under
their belt already and a few new riders, who now were members of the
Patriot Guard Family. |

The ride to Bushnell was the best escort this rider has experienced
yet. The Hillsborough Sheriff's Department really set the bar high.
They were very professional and made a safe and enjoyable ride for all
the participants. At Bushnell we rendered our last salutes to SGT Luckey. Another sad goodbye to a fine young man and great patriot. |

Now this fine soldier, who aspired to be a minister is laid to rest. In
a field with so many other fine men. Bryan, a good husband, son and
Christian now sits at the table of his Lord. Rest in Peace Bryan and
thank you for your courage, bravery and service to this country. You
make Tampa, your family, friends and brothers in arms proud. |
