The Defenders Motorcycle Club of Tampa
Invade Zephyrhills for Bike Night
August 12, 2006

The Defenders M/C, Tampa Chapter, rode to Zephyrhills for Bike Night. It was another hot and steamy Florida afternoon when we rolled into Zephyrhills for our first visit as a club. Razor, Doc, Snake, Ice, Gunner, Samson, Snakebite, Saint and guests all took to the streets at the same time. One of the first places we stopped was Motorman's Show behind the Village Inn. Motorman teaches the finer points of motorcycle riding. Naturally Snake had to put up a challenge.

We met in the lobby of the Village Inn Restaurant

Snake and Doc from the Lakeland PD were there

Snakebite, Razor, Brenda and Ice milling around the parking lot.

Snake decides to take on the Motorman. No backing out now!

Samson was there with his lovely daughter Amber.

Talking with Motorman and Dr Donna Snake gets ready

The street is lined with great bikes from all over the state

A band cranked up in the town square.

Finally Motorman and Dr Donna began their demonstration. We waited until it was time for Snake to do his thing. Motorman put him through the paces and couldn't shake the snake. Snake was right there and showed everyone what a well trained police officer can do on a bike. Good show Snake! Even the Motorman couldn't rattle the Snake. When it was all over our man was right there. Finished without dropping his bike.

Through tight turns and figure eights Snake never missed a beat.

Sparks flew as the bikers sharp turns laid their foot rest to the ground..

After the show it was time for Philly Cheesesteaks and brews

While at the food pavillion we ran into our brothers, the Road Dawgs

Everyone worked up a thirst watching Snake give the Motorman a run for his money. We all migrated to the food pavillion where we ran into members of the Road Dawgs M/C. We chatted a while with our friends in the Road Dawgs and stuffed our faces with Cheese Phillies, Italian Sausages and whatever else we turned up in the food court. It was hot and the beer was cold. After we finished pigging out we took a tour of the vendors along the street.

We browsed the booths along the street and admired the bikes. As the evening cooled down the band heated up. Everyone had a good time.

As the sun set some of us split up and went our seperate ways. We enjoyed Zephyrhills and will definately include it in our calendar as a great place to visit. The ride to Zephyrhills takes you through some great Florida countryside and our rides home were a great part of the days journey.
